Fears of being ‘scarred for life’ are fading

Fears of being ‘Scarred for life’ are fading, thanks to Doncaster’s
leading permanent make-up specialist Essjay Hartshorn.

Essjay has now qualified as a scar-camouflage practitioner in the medical field of tattooing,
bringing all her skills together in one set of expert hands. It gives hope to
women needing breast re-construction and nipple work, and people disfigured by
burns and accidents.

Medical tattooing – the insertion of pigment into the skin via a fine needle -
essentially disguises imperfections.

Using the latest advances in colour pigments and dermal rejuvenation, Essjay,
from Armthorpe, is able to dramatically reduce the appearance of scar tissue
and recreate the areola part of the breast.

Her skills also work in improving cosmetic surgery scars. Essjay is often asked
to mask the signs of a face lift or breast lift, and is finding many women
flocking to her for scar camouflage after they’ve been under the knife.

Essjay, who is also a renowned permanent make-up artist tending to many famous
faces, said:

“The advances in cosmetic and medical tattooing in recent years is
staggering.

“It’s great to be able to cosmetically enhance eyebrows, lips and eyes. But
it’s wonderful to be able to help with scarring and make a real difference in
the medical field.”
