Desperate Browswives

Desperate Browswives

‘BEWARE glamour brows during daylight hours’, warns permanent makeup specialist Essjay Hartshorn.

Women should tone down their daytime eyebrows to avoid looking heavily made up, the cosmetic tattooist to the stars advises.

‘Over the top eyebrows are being seen on quite a few celebrities at the moment, and unfortunately it’s rarely a flattering look,’ explains Essjay.

‘Glamour brows are great for evenings under dimmed lighting, but they can look too dramatic during daylight, so don’t be too heavy handed with your eyebrow pencil.

‘Take it softer during daylight; even at night don’t go OTT. Going too blocky when lining brows will make your forehead look like it’s hosting a pair of slugs.

Essjay also warns that heavy brows with an exaggerated arch look false and unflattering as seen on new reality soap Desperate Scousewives.

‘If you go too dark and heavy and over emphasise an arch it can make other features look out of proportion. Also, pointy brows  can  make a person look angry. One brow shape does not suit every face. Individual characteristics must be taken into account.’

For those considering a more enduring solution with permanent cosmetics, Essjay has this advice.

‘Never go too heavy with tattooed brows. Once the pigment is in place, it’s extremely hard to remove.

Eternally Beautiful!

Michelle Keegan & Dr Cronin

Coronation Street starlet Michelle Keegan ensured she was red-carpet ready for the BAFTAS by visiting leading Cheshire rejuvenation clinic Eternal Youth.

Michelle, who plays Tina McIntyre in the ITV drama, saw top cosmetic doc Paul Cronin who treated the TV beauty to an Omnilux Light therapy.

Omnilux is a relaxing, calming treatment designed to stimulate the skin and give a glowing complexion.

Michelle, who last month was crowned sexiest female for the second year running at the British Soap Awards, also celebrated her 23rd birthday when she popped into the clinic in London Road, Alderley Edge.

She went on to join fellow cast members at Sunday’s ceremony in London where Corrie was nominated in the Continuing Drama category but missed out to rival soap EastEnders.

Dr Cronin said: “Michelle is a beautiful girl and has beautiful skin; a treatment like Omnilux helps maintain and rejuvenate skin and can be very relaxing.”

Here’s the perfect solution to Miseltoe Mouths

Christmas is coming which means it’ll soon be time to pucker up under the mistletoe.

To achieve that perfect mistletoe mouth and avoid embarrassing lipstick smears, why not invest in a longlasting lip colour that promises to be 100% smudgeproof and smearproof and kissproof!

Finally Hollywood’s best kept secret, Lip Ink, is available in the UK. Used by celebs including Courtney Cox and Kirsty Alley, smudgeproof colour is here to stay.

Unlike lipsticks that need reapplying, Lip Ink is different. It’s a lip system that enables you to build up your colour gradually, creating your own shades according to the layers and colours you apply. And once it’s on, Lip Ink won’t smear and is waterproof.

With over ONE MILLION colour combinations, the Lip Ink system means you can dabble in this season’s must-have rich berry hues, perfect pinks, warm and earthy browns – or lighten your look with simplistic sheer nudes. And with thousands of seasonal rich reds available, there’s no limit to looking lip smackingly gorgeous.

Lip Ink contains no parabens or glycols and is made from 40 natural botanical herbs, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. It has not been tested on animals and is hypo allergenic.

Using Lip Ink couldn’t be easier, just follow these simple step-by-step instructions:

  1. Apply the hydrating shine moisturiser and massage well in.
  2. Apply lip ink colour slowly and evenly, making sure each application is dry before you apply the next. Remember, the more layers you apply the deeper the colour. 3 layers is optimum.
  3. Apply the hydrating shine moisturiser on top for a super soft feel and shine. To remove, use the special gentle lotion Lip Off when you want to remove the colour.

Please note: Lip Ink is non drying due to the hydrating shine moisturiser.

We recommend when choosing a Lip Ink colour go for a shade lighter than you normally would.

Have the festive season nailed!

The spotlight’s at your fingertips this festive season.

Nailtopia, a fun and funky young company setting new trends in nail art, is promising a winter wonderland full of fun, sparkle and glamour with their uber cute and trendy stickers.

From Santas to snowmen, Rudolfs to glittering Jack Frosts – you name it, Nailtopia’s almost certainly got it.

And remember, this is professional-quality nail art that you can apply at home in seconds!

So let your fingers and toes do the talking this Yuletide and claw your way into an explosion of imaginative designs that are sure to get you noticed.

Quality made by the trend-setting Japanese, these easy-to-apply 3D latex stickers can be used on acrylic, on gel, or simply on the natural nail itself.

Nailtopia nail art also makes ideal stocking fillers for women who have secretly longed to say goodbye to dull nails, but just need that extra push.

For best, smudge-free results, simply apply the nail stickers before the base varnish is completely dry – just touch dry will do. Drying time will depend on the polish you use and the type of nail it’s applied to (natural vs acrylic).

Use tweezers to remove stickers from the backing sheet and place on nail. Then pat down firmly and gently with an orange stick, leaving no area untouched.

Use a good quality, long lasting top coat – Nailtopia’s Oh So Wet is ideal – to seal your nail art. This ensures that your funky nails last as long as your varnish. You’ll only need one layer of top coat.

Remove with the usual nail polish remover – but only after having lots of fun as the most eye-catching Christmas cracker around.
